General new panda project,

Forum sticker can stay mind, :)

irember having it on two wheels on a roundabout, :D

iwill put alot of time into this one me thinks ..its just not easy finding parts
ebay is garbage for panda bits :(

Have a look at this sticky -- it lists all the places we get our parts from. Most things can be obtained (apart from automatic clutches, sills, doors, and 4x4 petrol tanks...); and many of the guys on here have garages stacked high with bits and bobs -- so a wanted ad in the Classifieds will often reap rewards. (y)

Much easier to work on than a Punto, too. Even the injected ones are simple, in comparison...! :)

cylinder head was scrap,
ihad one in garage amongst the cobwebs, luckily so thats cleaned up and on now,

the plastic side trims where unsave-able so weve removed them + blue tat trim off number plate
doors are scabby underneath passenger one being the worst, (ive seen worse tho)

all stickers and tat is removed apart from fiat forum one,

iwill order paint and materials this week get the bodywork tidied up and then crack on with the welding, atm this panda is being easy to work with, :)

spoke with chap it came off, and the issue with roof rails has been resolved,
it was just a missunderstanding ..so no negatives here, :)

it started up first turn,:)

she sounds nice & quiet too not a tapper anyway :D

just got to change oil and filter now, (someones made mince meat out of sump plug in the past.) so imay have to change sump

Need to find a airbox too, its venting to atmosphere witch aint good
it wont smell nice inside with heater on, :(

left it running for a few hours now and it hasnt blowed up,

temp is sitting on 90. so alls good,
floor has been rust treated, iwill crack on with paint work next and
then get it welded up for its m.o.t.

schtubert called round earlier and brought a few parts which helps alot
cheers 4 that mate, (y)

got the boot floor and seatbelt points welded up..

it wasnt too bad, ive had worser scabs on my arms, :D
the old girl is fairly solid,

got all floor painted up inside car.. and all seams sealed, its looking good :)
next job ithink its going on its side, (matress to protect it) and then get the underside cleaned up,
and then crack on with the interior, and then the search begins for mk1 16v old punto sporting

Not sure if you were being serious, but if you are, a little tippette if I may. The mk1 Punto Sportings are mainly dead or dying, with most thrashed for years. If you find a good one it won't be cheap & it would be a shame to break a good one. Having been through the same thing, I found a mk1 Punto 85ELX which turns out to be perfect. They have exactly the same engine but as a 5 door family mobile they won't have been thrashed & crashed - mine had 50 odd thousand on the clock family owned from new and the bodywork past its best from London driving & school runs - goes like a rocket and I seriously doubt I would have found a nicer one from a Sporting even if I'd tripled the £350 engine budget. Just a thought! (y)
