looking down through the gearbox to bulkhead i see you have lots of green moss between the bricks
there are many modern formulee to combat this but salt or bleach can be a cheap substitute
thank you ;-)

Filter looks nice but you will go slower as its sucking hot air. For not many £s you could get some silicone hose bends and alloy tube from ebay and make up a remote intake.

Its looking pretty clean - dont forget to polish that rocker cover :)

would a torque tube help on these engines i wonder?
last one i made for a ford i made of a cardboard tube, worked fine but set fire to the car on the m4 when it ignited itself by touching the exhaust manifold

Seriously - those ducts wont work. Hot air gets forced through the grille & rad by the car moving along. Those little ducts will make next to no difference compared to the grille area. Three 50mm bends and two straights will put the filter at the front & sort it.

cold air feeds are proved to be useless, even with a air feed trumpet mounted in the bumper. if ur not gunna mount the filter behind the bumper, at least move it to infront or behind the battery as that will be the coolest place away from the block/manifolds etc. if u place it infront of the battery, consider a filter heat shield also as there will still be heat from the manifold reaching it.

For the minute difference you may or may not notice, forget any alu' piping as will suffer heat soak. Especially so on a wee Punto as I've said, you might notice some more responsiveness. You do need to get some cold air in through.

Don't forget the placebo effect is still alive & well;)
