General new coop owner

hi guys i just thought id introduce myself

does anybody know how much a 2nd hand 16v turbo engine for a coupe would be i think mines going to die

no one has them............

my oil temperature and water temp seem to run very low does anybody have any ideas?

nope not at all drinking fuel like a fish drinks water..... it also runs uneven too

how long have you had the car for - did you get it private or garage?

Cold running might just be a duff thermostat - if it's stuck open the car will run cool and it'll never be off the 'choke'. I'd try that first.

it could be your themostat - which isnt good, you should take it to be looked at, as causes super rich running and can blow the engine to bits.
also could shoot up loads your plugs and lambda as well causing more probs.

is there any way of checking the thermostat

the beat thing you could do is take it to a garage and get them to take a look

there is but you have to remove it to test it,worth changeing it siince your taking it out anyway

If there's a coop specialist nearby (or even if it's a journey) That would be well worth a try, Im seriously thinking of driving 200 miles to a specialist and getting a B+B to get my coop probs sorted.

Five minutes away! oh What I'd do to have them at my doorstep! Get down there immediately! Im up in north wales No one up here has the first clue about coops unfortunately. I also had a 16vt bought from a garage, long story but It basically needed a new engine. They tried for 3 months and couldnt get hold of one, and Had to give me a full refund.
Luckily I found a 20vt...
