Hey guys,

Just a quick one. With the fans set to their coldest setting, the air still comes through warmish. The Temp gauge is always dead middle so the engine isnt overly hot or anything. Anyone have any insight into this?. Seems really random that I dont get fresh chilled air, even when going along at like 50+ lol

cheers

When the car is warmed up hot coolant is still being pumped through the heater matrix this warms up the air box, So even if you only have cold selected you will always get air through that is slightly warmer than the outside air.

Pop he back windows open, open the front windows full and you'll soon cool down.

Unless you have aircon, the air coming in will never be cooler than the air outside. With recent temperatures around 20degrees, the air will never feel cool. Think of the "cold" setting as "ambient".

When the car is sat in the sun, the dash gets hot, and some heat transfers to the ducting below. It takes a while for the incoming air to cool this, even with aircon the outer vents take quite some time to blow really cold, the centre vents do so quite quickly.
