need to fill some holes

have got some holes on the rear arch where the rollcage was, how do i go about filling them?

would fg matting on the underside and some filler on inside do the trick or would i be better getting a plate welded or fg'd underneath to cover them

i will be attempting this myself as it doesnt need to be neat but needs to be solid

mesh on the outside and a bit of glass will be fine.finish with filler on the inside

well its depends how big the hole is,for larger gaps you can get soft mesh to support the glass/filler in the gap.
if were talking just drilling holes then a little glass on the underside and filler inside will be fine

but a bit of key and matting would do wouldnt it?

i need some rust killer or preventation stuff, anyone know the name cause im taking a trip to 'frauds

EDIT - yeah custard they only smallish drill holes, 2 on each arch

loads like k-rust etc.if its small then any type of support will work.you can even glass in a metal/plastic plate etc
if there not in a viewable area you could even just treat em and spray the holes.
then fit grommets

just paint any bare metal around the holes, then stick some rubber grommits in them

got some krust and fg repair kit from 'frauds

what i done so far, wired brushed all the crap off and have to wait for the krust to dry now

rubber grommits are the easy option dave

is resin and hardner meant to crackle, spit and smoke?

mine did when it went hard, i picked it up it was hot and got it all over my arms and clothes

i never had it happen before, it didnt do it again with the 2nd and 3rd pot i mixed - i got the fire extinguisher on standby just in case

all done now, not the best but holes are covered

gonna hammerite the hole boot floor and rear arches tomorrow

have started on the boot floor now, it was covered in soundproofing type stuff, i pulled that out and was left with all black powder crap

was scrubbing away for ages and nothing was happening

found some turps in the garage, poured it on and left for a few mins, it coming of easier but is it safe?

crappy black stuff of eventually, wire brush dead and i cant feel my fingers

hammerite'd floor - looks crap so covering with some red (that is orange) carpet

got a headache from the fumes and sore throat from the dust but my hands are nice and clean cause i used my mums marigolds
