Technical Need a picture/diagram Gearbox 1.2 Punto mk1

Right, changed clutch. Part of this meant removing the lever that does the side to side selector on the box. (The lever which the cable connects to via the ball joint that should have been disconnected rather than taking the damn lever off). The shaft to which it bolts had dropped down into the box (missing circlip?). Got it back up, but it's not obvious which way it should 'point'. One position lets me have the first and second slot, the other gives me reverse 5th slot.

I don't mind paying for a download of the full manual, but I can't see a site that I really trust, or even one that says "this is the official fiat manual on cd".

So, has anyone got the manual and can send me just the page showing the selector mechanism in exploded form, or can anyone tell me which site they trust to buy one from?

hi ive done this and the only way i could sort it was by referring to another gearbox
i even took the whole top cover off and compared
this was a mk2 box but i think they are very similar

Ta for that, but I've got the Haynes manual already - it's the official that I need. It's been about thirty years since Haynes believed that it was safe to work on the insides of a gearbox!

While I'm on the subject, I saw somebody else's comment about the H manual and clutch changing. I must agree because the manual and my Punto bear only a passing resemblance... One bolt for the starter motor. No. Three. I could go on.

The official one probably contains no gearbox info of any use -- FIAT AFAIK put all the gearbox stuff in a separate manual hid it in a cabinet in the basement with a label: beware of the leopard.

There are a few Polish ones on the net which contain better details of the old C514 box, but to find the right one means a lot of jiggy jiggy with eMule, and torrent stuff.

I tried to post you a pic, but the server doesn't appear to be processing stuff at the moment.

The one I have is by WKt called simply "Fiat Punto".

Can't help with the translation.

Found one Polish one on PBay, but don't know if it's the WKt one. VV slow download.

Your naming the gbox (C514) has brought up a load of Google images. Must search, must search.

Looks like the reason that I couldn't align it is the the forward/backward selector shaft has turned and obstructed the lever at the bottom of 'my' shaft.

Bit of jiggling should see it done.

Result.
