My washing machine

Does anyone know why a washing machine could get stuck at a particular step? E.g. its happened twice - left the washing machine (non digital) washing and went to bed bang, woke up like 8 hours later and the thing was stuck at the soaking step!

Hope I haven't done it any damage..

Pull off the selector knob and give the undies some WD40.

Ours did the same thing. I think it was the program controller.

We had ours covered on an extended parts and labor warranty though

Our old one did this, it was the switch dial thing with the settings on. A little nudge and it finished the cycle.

mine did this, it was the pump propeller stuck, when the water filled it would stop the cycle, after i removed a bit of my GF's knickers from the pump all was well again.

it could be the machine is not emtying,if it does not emty then the spin cycle wont come on,check this if so then you would have to clear the pump

If you take the top off you may find the rotary control has lost some of its actuating prongs`bits of plastic`

it could be the machine is not emtying,if it does not emty then the spin cycle wont come on,check this if so then you would have to clear the pump

yep this can be cause by blocked filter mine used to do this (well wifes washing machine:devil: ) from the fluff from my socks

Mine's done the same, blocked drain pipe causing it to stick on wash cycle.
