Hello all, I have a 2006 GP 1.9Mjet Sporting, bought it recently and it has not been the luckiest of cars (a van decided it was a nice thing to pull in to and quite independantly the front dirvers side spring cracked):(

But recently it has begun to smell strongly of unburnt diesel in the cabin only. This get much worse when I have been manovering or have the heater on. The dealer has had a look at it, They agree the smell is unusual but couldn't find anything wrong or any stray diesel. Anyone else had this or got any ideas taking it back next week.

Cheers

I was out yesterday with 4 other mates and my car stunk of farts this morning

i only noticed petrol smell in mine 2 days ago checked this afternoon and its the breather pipe as mentioned above, it looks like it had a stick of tnt in there:eek: literally blown out, scary how this can happen?

Air freshner will do the job ;)

just took mine into the local fiat garage, fitted a new pipe under warranty, only took about 20 mins, however he could provide no explanation as to how it had happened

Hello all, thanks for the replies. Just got the car back from the garage today and thought I'd update you... the first fiat dealer(Perrys Aylesbury) I took it too, twice in fact, were insisting there wasn't a problem despite the persistent strong smell.

We checked the pipe but that was fine, so in the end I took the car back to the dealer I'd bought it from in Warwick (Gray's - they were great) who after having a good look decided the high pressure diesel pump had cracked! My car has been merrily spraying fuel over half the county, I can't believe Perrys missed this twice! Still, all fixed now.
