I thought the 75 was 16v? if not why was their never a Mk2 8v tuned to 75bhp?

you mean 85 16v sx ;) but think the sporting was 86 lol

Yup, Charlieboy is right. The 1242 Punto engines work out as follows:

Punto 60 - 65bhp, 8 valve and SPI
Punto 75 - 75bhp, 8 valve and MPI
Punto 85 (and sporting) - 85bhp, 16 valve and MPI

And Beau, congratulations! Car looks nice, and for 200 quid that's quite a bargain. I got my 75SX (on a P plate like yours), without Abarth bits and needing work/ parts replaced and an MOT for 175 quid. Going to cost me at least another 100 quid to get it back on the road...

How many miles has yours done by the way?

very nice beau wen you get your new wheels let me know how much you wnt for the old 1s

cant fault it for a first car esp with full abarth kit, should be able to push them dents out and make it abit better for now, cinquepunto there 1.6 sporting seats.

what bits do you need ?

So it's a 60bhp mpi?

Its ridiculous really, must have been bexasue of emissions. the stilo's have two cats, do the mk2's cant remember seeing one on my dads but maybe they did as that would lower emssions and bhp. The newest 1.2 in the gp is a 65bhp MPI. Fiat make decent engines, just not very high performance ones. It seems there older cars pushed a bit better HP out of theri engines. The mk2 8V MPI has a plastic inlet as the Mk1 8v MPI has a aluminium one, wonder if thats because the whole fueling is differnet too?
