I was in the market for a new car, on a tight budget, came across the fiat croma 2.4 prestigio auto, Low price, went to have a look on Friday bloke wasn't keen on selling it to me, as apparently I needed a fiesta or vauxhall.
Also should add everyone I know was telling me not to get it, as apparently Fiats are bad...!

Today I came home with this the croma, Its got some welly when driving up the dual carriage way, I'm used to a Citroen c8 which hates anything that involves driving, so it's nice to have a proper car once again

I am wondering I know it's a rare car, does this make it a good thing or bad thing (Be honest!) and is it possible to change the system in it? Ie to a bluetooth one?

Hi,
Very nice Croma. Welcome to the forum. Yes your model of Croma is very rare, there are only 17 on the road now and only ever 35 in the UK. Less than 300 of all the new Cromas on the road and never more than about 1300 in the UK ever.
As Varesccrazy says it shares a lot with the Vauxhal Vectra C and Saab 93 but yours has a bigger engine, actually a whole extra cyliner and piston.

Well I have owned a Croma 2005 1.9 MultiJet 16V 150BHP and it was a great car.

It had issues, almost all in my experience relating back to the GM content, but overall it was a great car. Many trips to Italy towing a caravan and in the UK.

Post 2005 production then Fiat appeared to have solved the inherited GM issues but I can not be really specific as once I sorted my Croma out I was content.

Hi and welcome :)

1st FIAT..?

Thats a SAAB - Vauxhall !! ;)

They never sold in great numbers but have ( had..) a good following on here :)

Its on a South Wales registration..

Where is it based now?

I love the drive, I took her a little over the speed limit today off road just to see what she could do, it so lush to handle.
Wonder why they didn't do more of them,
I called a fiat place today to ask about the update drivers, he got so rude, said hes only ever worked on 3 in the 26yrs hes been working with fiat knows nothing about them wasn't interested and basically put the phone down on us!

Better than my local main dealer, They had never heard of them.
What is your plan for maintenence, can you DIY? If you can't then try to find a local Fiat or Alfa Romeo independent specialist. The 5 cylinder diesel in your Croma was more common in Alfas than Fiats. A lot of consumables like brake parts are common to the Vectra but it can be hard to sort out the exact part. Thete were at least two different brands of braking system fitted to Cromas. For diagnostics of Fiats there is very good software called Multiecuscan. We will try to help here as much s we can.

I'm still on my 3rd Croma and will also try and help you out where I can, I know a fair bit about them now. My 1st 2 were 1.9 16v auto's and my 3rd is the 2.4 auto. TBH the 2.4 is not a bad engine but its makes for difficult maintenance due to the lack of space. The economy is not great, mine averages about 32 mpg with quite a few long runs inc.

I saw yours fetched £800 on ebay, I think it would have fetched more if was in Mids or London as most people don't want to travel to Cornwall.
