as you can see the teeth are slightly out of line, putting a screwdriver in there it feels like a very strong coil prevent it from spitting

So there one cam for inlet and one cam for exhaust ?

Ming

Thats how it usually happens unless you've got desmodronic valve gear (see Ducati).

If you have them both belt driven from the same belt the cams have to be further apart to allow the two pulleys to turn without hitting each other.

They both have to have a pulley twice the size of the crank pulley for the timing to remain the same.

In the example here, the timing is controlled by the single pulley on the outside, the two inner cogs have to be the same size as each other, but not as big as if they both contolled the timing.

Many years ago, and coming back into fashion now, the Escort Mark 2 BDA had two front pulleys, so both cams ran in the same direction

When we went on to the KGA in the Asconas and Mantas, the gear driven exhaust cam ran the opposite way to the inlet (as would happen with the superfire) confused the hell out of us at first.

Cheers

Ah i get it now :D I had a bit of tunnel visions. As most of the jap cars seems to have the 2 pulley at front :). That's the only time i get to see more than 1 cam :p

David .. how is it possible for two cam pulleies to go different direction in the same engine ? 2 cam belts ?

Thanks
Ming

It´s simple answer. Timing of Intake cam is oposite to normal one, so in easy way to say. Turn normal camshaft 180 degree and you have it ;) Its so easy :)

I think I have 1 problem, after 5500revs there is lack of power. It works normally, but after 5500rpms I think it should go better. Maybe I have to check cam timing .... any sugestions?

Actually, Yesterday I drowe exactly 124,1kilometers from engine built and something happened...

I don´t know how the nut came in, but I am glad that id didn´t more damage.

your luckie in a sense there, only way i can see it getting there was it was coincidently dropped possibly into the intake plenum and hte air with engine vibrations finally moved it to down a runner
