Seicento My Black Seicento Sporting

Introduction

I was on the forum about 6 years ago with a Punto Sporting and a Punto HGT. Since then I've had quite a few different cars, Clio RS 172/182's, TT225, BMW 325 CI Msport and a Saab 9-3 Aero 2.8 V6 Turbo.

But at the moment I'm doing a lot of work on a house I am renovating so wanted something cheap to run. I was looking at Saxo/106 1.1's when a Seicento Sporting caught my eye as it was only a mile or so from my house. It was owned by a member on here, Lee and it really is a credit to him. For a cheap little runabout it has been very well looked after. So a deal was done and I took her home.

A few pictures I took after I'd had it a couple of days....

I've been really pleased with it so far, for every £10 in petrol it's doing about 65/70 miles and I've not been on the motorway with it so I imagine it could do more.

When I bought it my plans were just to keep it clean and serviced regularly but now I think I'm going to modify it a little. I've bought some Abarth wheels (again off Lee), only 3 were good enough to go on the car but I managed to find a 4th on eBay which I'm collecting tonight. I think I'll be getting them powder coated anthracite. Then I'm going to lower it 30/40mm, what springs do you all recommend? Do I need to upgrade the shocks at the same time?

Then I'll just be keeping my eye out for some Abarth skirts and spoiler.
Just a small update.

Solved an issue with the clutch thanks to the advice I got on here. Still need to resolve an oil leak and a new problem with one of the rear brakes.

I've got a set of Abarth wheels ready to be powder coated after finding a 4th on eBay. I'm thinking anthracite for the wheels with red Abarth centres? What are the options on tyre sizes? Does it have to be 175/50/14?

I also picked up an Abarth spoiler so I'll get that fitted soon.

Just my two cents...I've got the Sonars, you can get them for around £30-40 a corner if you shop about so not too bad, and they are a lot better than expected, surprising amount of grip, although no less noisy than the Pirellis! ;)

My mum has offered me her Punto that she has owned from new at a very reasonable price so this little Sei is regrettably up for sale. I've advertised it on here for £750 and on eBay for £795. I'd like to get £700 for it considering I've just taxed it for 6 months and there is still 11 months MOT remaining.

I've got a straight set of Abarth wheels with Abarth centres available too. They would come with 2 Pirelli tyres and 2 Sonar Tyres, all with 6mm+ of tread. There is also a black Abarth spoiler. I'd take £850 for everything.

It would be great if someone on here would take it all and finish what I was going to do.

The car is in excellent condition, no dents, scrapes and NO rust what so ever!

Shame, you will regret this - punto's are boring compared to cento's but carry on if oyu must. You'll be back though, i tell you now lol.

Sell the punto.
Agreed ^

From an unbiased (well slightly) point of view, having never owned a Cento I reckon you'll want to keep it after having the Punto for long. I had a big Punto (Grande Punto), had it for a year, nice car, comfy, smooth etc. Boring though, sold it after a year, got a mk2 Panda. (Sorta vaguely the same as a Cinq)
