To answer a question earlier in the thread, if you drip hot water down the rear punto badge letters, the letters slide off on their own and don't even leave any residue from the adhesive.

hey, lovely car.

Quick question. How do you find ur driving school goes with a modified car? Reason im asking as im in the process of doing my part 3 training to be an instructor and was thinking of using my Punto as a school car when i pass.
Do you feel like you attract a lot of younger people?

when i was doing my part 2 test in it, i was weary about the car being modified. Felt like the examiner was judging me cos im only 21, and of the car. I passed however, but i dont want my pupils to be discriminated against cos of the car if you know what i mean.

This is my car, think it would be ok as a school car?

sorry for hijacking ur thread mate

Believe it or not, examiners like sitting in a car that they know someone has pride in ,by the care thats gone into making it look that way,as long as its not OTT,they will also know in time,by the standard of the pupils presented for test that the instructor also has pride in making sure his/her pupils are well prepared for the test and drive at a standard that is well above the basic standard required.I always make sure the car is clean, inside and out before a test,if an instructor turns up in a car thats dirty and scruffy, they wonder about the standard of teaching that that particular instructor is capable of,eg. you wouldn't turn up for an interview for a job that normally requires a suit or equivalent wearing overalls or scruffy jeans and top would you,so presentation is important, says a lot about you and the pride you take in your work,I don't wear shirt and tie for teaching,I did,but its not practical for me,but smart/casual is fine for me.Good luck with your part 3.Simon your car looks really good and I'm sure the examiners and pupils will like driving it,everyone likes to be seen in a nice car,one examiner near me wouldn't get out of my last car cos she said she liked being in it too much,ha,shame it was mechanically crap,6 gearboxes,4 clutches and 3 power steering pumps in 2 1/2 years meant off the road a lot,I still think the GP looks better.

Yeah i suppose that makes sense.

The car will be a mobile advertisement for my company, so the better it looks, the more pupils i will get- in theory.

I just thought getting instructors insurance etc for a modified car woud be a big ballache.

anyway thanks for the advice.

Simon, you will be amazed,I pay £455 fully comp for my GP but thats with full protected no claims, its a company that deals with driving instructors,we don't have a lot of accidents so its real low,I'll give you details either in a pm or whenever your ready after your part 3 ok,john

You actually let learner drivers take the wheel of that thing?

Looks (y)

Yup looks fab nice work, am sure you'll have them queing up! :D

I'm sure you do, let's also hope your students do too.

Yup i asume on of the mods is dual control... hehe. So as long as your on the ball then it'll be fine, although kerbing is something that can happen quite easily.

Yes its got the duals, the wite things next to the number plate screws is where I attatch my front L plate with a copy of my reg number plate,I just use a magnetic one for the rear, most roof signs are magnetic which obviously won't stick to the glass roof plus I prefer it this way.

Hi john the car looks cool as, do you have the phone numbers of where you got the front and rear bumper extensions, Need for speed and Novitec please, am thinking of getting them for my car...Thanks..Mike

Where did you get the rear apron & exhaust and how much?

Nice looking , my preference thou would have been to stick on the plates and not screw them on , a nice chrome disc holder would also be nice...
You can get pretty similar stuff from Fiat. The rear apron is different, but the front is the same...
