Barchetta My 1995 Fiat Barchetta aka Claudia

Introduction

This is my 1995 Fiat Barchetta 1.8L 1747cc L4 designed by Andreas Zapatinas and Alessandro Cavazza with such a good taste and sense of a car's lines.
She's almost 17 years old but still going strong due to some careful owners until now! I am not sure about the previous owners but I do my best to keep it in top shape!
I hope you will enjoy my Claudia! She always puts a smile onto my face :)

:ROFLMAO: Sailfin, honestly I've always said that an italian car should always be red :D, especially if she's a distant relative of Ferrari  so inmo the colour is corect!
Thank you guys for all the nice words! Until now I've been browsing around the threads reading and honestly I admire the sense of family that is in the air around here!
Respect (y)

Lovely in Red but oh so nice in glorious SILVER haha

Looks well cared for and waxed. Is that the original PVC hood?

True. It's always waxed :), most of the times with Carnauba wax.
The hood is PVC OEM in honest shape! Not so happy with how the back side rubber seal falls onto the body but this is what I call "character" :)
Also on the character list are next items
- in heavy rain water builds up where the hood should lay when folded
today I had to remove the plastic panels surrounding the hood bay so they can get dry since right now they are soaked
- a little rattle when I turn the engine on! Myeaa, the variator gives signs :p
but is still in working shape.
I sometimes test the variator. My way of doing it: Neutral Gear. Easily give gas until around 2500-3000rpm, point where I keep the pedal still and if the variator still does the job the engine should rev itself from that point on! And it does! :yum:
- back bumper paint is slightly chipped. I guess previous owner had some "rear action" at some point and just can sprayed it for sale!
- right side upper shock bearing gone! Needs replacing soon! For now just took it off, dismantled it, filled it with grease to stop the knocking and put it back as a fast temporary fix
- radiator leak inside the cockpit, driver side, temporary fixed with some "stop leak" special "sand" ! Just for now, I know is not recommended to keep that into the cooling system for too long.
- some minor bodywork paint chips here and there, nothing obvious
- right hand side window doesn't step on the PVC hood as it should and I get wind noise at high speed. I suppose a hardtop will fix this for good :D
- airbag light is on in the dash after I took the seats out for upholstery replacing! I cleaned the wire couplings with electro-cleaner but still is on! I am not sure if I should just put the engine tester on the B and fix the fault
- and the latest  the wipers stopped working! When I put them on, I can hear the relay going "clanck!" but the wipers don't move...
With all this i still LOVE HER ;)

PS: Since forum space is precious this thread will be the only place where I will post anything that happens to this beauty (y)

Personally, I rarely make comment about colour. However, the unique lines of the Barchetta are enhanced by certain colours. I also have a Mercedes SLK and I think this looks best in silver. I really like your comment about using this thread to show your car. My favourite threads are KC3 Project Silver, Blue Barchetta Project and F4ust Silver B. I enjoy reading most post but would love to see more of these ongoing blogs about members cars. It's just my opinion though. Steve:D

Yesterday the sun gave me one more chance to enjoy some open air motoring
It was 12 in the afternoon and it was like sun was saying "Come on, go on, take the hood down, put on your driving leather gloves and gooo!":)
Said and done!
It sticked to my mind the words of someone from this forum, can't remember the thread which was saying that driving the B in the winter time is something else;
with gloves, thick clothes and the heating at max  So I said, let's try this!
You can't imagine the :D on my face!

Some engine bay shots taken today on the occasion of some engine clean-up :)
Also I tried to fix the wipers but just can't access the wiper motor since one the wipers tread spins in the same time with the nut so can't unscrew it :( And I call myself and engineer...
Honestly I could force it but just could not take it anymore, is too damn cold outside so I ran to have a hot coffee :D

Nice pic's looking forward to getting back to France with my newly accuired Hardtops one Silver and one Red and using the car more in the winter, I just have to decide which top looks best I will sell the other one

AND I WILL BUY IT (if I can afford your offer)!!!!!!!!!!!! :D
Fingers crossed hopping you will like the silver one more :yum:
I am on the watch for a good hardtop, especially a red one for a while now!
I live in a "ebay non grata" zone so ebay is out of the question! :)
Maybe we could keep in touch on this matter!
Honestly the color is not relevant, since it can be repainted easy.
