Right just so i get this straight,

On multiwagons from 55/06 facelift shape there is only one diesel power unit and thats the 16v 120bhp multijet.

Looking at 2 56 plate 120bhp multijets multiwagons with a view to buying one in the next month and just want to be sure.

So how much better are the multijets over the jtd,s or wont i notice a difference. And the bonus is neither have the skyroof.

Anyone know of anymore for sale anywhere as dont really want silver but like the dark grey and they both have towbars.

Heavy clutch and noticable vibration at idle I would say are the two drawbacks of the JTD. I dont think the 5hp difference would be noticable

Wow! That must be a first on this Forum or were you being sarcastic

I was only thinking this week just fantastic the sky-roof is :spin:

Don't forget some of the older Multiwagons come absolutely loaded with kit unlike newer versions.

Nope i wasnt being sarcastic at all, Cant wait to say goodbuy to it, the only time it ever got used was if the dogs were left in the car. Other than that it stayed firmly shut, to much wind noise and the odd leak.

Was handly for the dogs i must admit and will miss it from that point, But having Aircon was and is my preferance for me and the dogs whilst travelling. Be nice to have some more head room too.

Perhaps the MW is different because you actually get more headroom with the 5 door; a little more still if you open the blind; and one hell of lot more if you then open the blades ;)

As long as the blind is kept shut then wind noise is not a bother to me.

About the only advantage I can think of in not having a sky-roof (aside from cost) is better mpg - as it must be fairly heavy :chin:

Of course but surely you can't be seriously suggesting you expect no wind noise when the sun-roof is partially open

Well no i know its going to be noisey, but it was more your comment about keeping the blind shut i assume when the sunroof is open or i have got wrong end of the stick with your comments about blind being shut.
:D:D

lol Well you've got one Muppet, so you shouldn't need me to tell you they can be a little noisy with the blind open (but sunroof still shut :p).

Personally, I wish there was some way of closing the blind when the sunroof is open as at least I'd then get a chance of cleaning the top of it (must have a fair bit of dust on mine after 6.5 years)

pping eck.... even when it was coldish in winter i had my skyroof open.... had it all the way open on a trip to and from manchester just before i got shut of la stilo and got a bit of sunburn.... is one of the things i miss

Sorry i was thinking maybe i hadnt worked out how to open the roof with the blind shut as it would be a great idea sometimes.

Have anouther question though,

How big is the boot on the 3 door, Could somebody measure the back to front, Side to side and the height and maybe distance from top of seat back to the tailgate please.:worship::worship::worship:

Wondering if i can squeeze me 3 dogs in the boot.

Having been looking at 3 door Multijet Sportings and 150bhp kinda is making me think about one.:devil:

if your dogs are like paris hiltons dogs you'll be ok, i wouldnt like to put 3 lab size dogs in my boot, size wise i will measure tommorow for you but on a trip i got 1 large suitcase lying down and a gap at one side at the bottom, goes shallower and narrower by quite a bit where the parcel shelf is at seat tops.

rough sizes are (not into nooks and cranys)
at floor 40" wide x 28"deep or 1040mm x 700mm
at tailgate height same width x 26"deep or 660mm
at parcel shelf height 35" wide(between speaker pods) x18" deep(back of seat to plastic moulding on back hatch) or 890mm x 460mm
height from floor to parcel shelf 20" or 500mm

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm thanks for that, i guess its a bit smaller than i thought it look's in picture's i have seen.

Ah well stick with the multiwagon i think then and as Jfl say's i can aways get it remapped if i wanted to. Are the engines identical then just different power outputs.
I have looked at the astra estates and the 150bhp but the dash and stuff just doesnt look as nice at the stilo and i dont think you get the cheaper tax and the insurance wont be cheap for a astra either i think.
