Hello,

I am close to buying the following car in the link below;

http://www.falmouthdiesels.co.uk/us...g-for-sale-in-falmouth-cornwall/aetv45156849/

But I have a few questions before I commit!

I noticed that the body kit is separate to the car where as in some other versions on the same model, the kit is joined smoothly to the bumper. Is this because of it was a 58 plate rather than a 57 and there was a small change between this year?

Is there another thing important to check on the car before buying?

I currently have a VW lupo GTi but the MPG and insurance is just eating away at my wallet! So a fast diesel hatch back is a must and this fits the requirements.

Thanks in advance,

Jamie.

In regards to the bodywork I am not sure wheather its an after market version , but im not 100% sure so dont quote me on it.

I would check the normal things to check when buying a car and also get a previous mot certificate number from the seller and look it up on dvla and this will show yoy any qork that has been done and any oitstanding advisorys for the vehicle.

Looks a nice car mate to be honest !

The screen price looks a bit high, so make sure you get a reasonable discount - it's not a VW.

Appreciate there might not be too many near you, which could stabilise prices a bit, but the value of GPs really seems to have fallen in the 18 months since I bought mine, unfortunately.

Don't know if its my screen or what but that body kit is a slightly different colour to the original paint and wouldn't touch it at all

Yeah I noticed that, it might just be the way the light falls on the different angled panels or it could be a poor paint match when the kit was fitted. That colour is notoriously hard to match.

As for things to look for, check all the things on the common faults thread plus specific to the 1.9 m-jet check the gearbox bearings (for noise) and that the clutch doesn't slip.

Thanks for the help guys. You are indeed correct about the different colour of the body kit and the paint work, I check it in person again because I saw that post and it is very different!
