My car had it's first service today - no problems at all, and it even had a wash and vacuum out for free!

They put on the service information though that they recommended I put mud flaps on and quoted a price of £94.12 ... I haven't got that kind of money to 'waste' but just wondered how many others had got mud flaps.

(they also quoted £212.50 to replace the front near side wheel where I'd obviously bumped the hub cap against a pavement ..... I said no, as a fair chance it may happen again!).

If its Westovers you went to Heidi they are very expensive on labour cost.

I'm sure you can get them fitted cheaper by useing an independant garage. If you really want them though there are fiat dealers in Southampton and Salisbury which may be cheaper so you could combine them being fitted with a shopping trip!!

Your dealer 'e iz ow we zay in france aveeeng a laff.

Advising you that you need something that you have to pay for is just funny :D

As for the wheels, do you mean you've kerbed the wheel and not the hubcap? A set of 4 lounge wheels is 402.34 from Fiat so 200 odd pounds simply for a wheel and refitting of the tyre is a ripoff. I'm glad you said no because that's frankly ridiculous

Well i've scuffed the insert bit that goes in the middle ... no idea if it's the hub cap or the wheel as I'm not a car-techno sort of person. it's not black bit in the middle with 500 written on it, it's the spokey bit! I know, that is a huge amount of money for a wheel isn't it! And a waste of money lol.

You sure they didn't mean £20 then? The hubcap is about 10-20 pounds :)

It's the rim of the alloy that's scuffed, I saw it at the New Forest meet. It's not too bad though, I've got a worse mark on one of mine and I wasn't recommended anything during my service. You definitely won't need a full wheel Heidi, a refurb or repair would do the job.
