Technical MPI 40mm TB????

just been looking on the cbf site and ive seen lotsa talk of a 40mm throttle body for the sei sporting mpi,

has anyone got one and where could i get one from???

I think there's a link to someone doing them in the FAQs. Cheaper alternative is one from a 1242 16v. Thread on this by Kritip somewhere. I got one boxed up and ready to go for £15 inc.

Not a 40, but one from a 1242 16v. The budget alternative!

the inlet on the MPI is bigger than 40mm, so fitting a 40mm on an MPI seems daft to me.

Don't getcha. It's 38 (or so) at the entry to the plenum, so it goes fat, thin, fat. The TB is the main restriction. Looks like there is a useful gain to be had.

my bad, i thought the inlet on the plenum on the MPI was 43mm but it is only 39mm.

FYI, the inlet on the P75 plenum (without spacer) is 48mm. So if it were me i'd bin the Sei MPI manifold and fuel rail, and fit the P75 kit with a 16v TB on it.

Or go completely barking mad and put the 48mm Dell'Orto TB from a K series on! But that is, way, way, bigger -- almost certainly too big.

My only real concern about the P75 mani (in this useage ) is that you've either got to faff around with the fuel rail mounts, to make the Sei injectors fit (just as I'm having to do with Blue's new mani/plenum) or use the P75 ones (which the Sei ECU may object to).
