Can someone give me an idea of what mileage i can expect from 20 quids worth of fuel.1.1 Sporting standard 1995. I reckon only getting 200 miles.

Same - I feel lucky if I get over 200 miles out of a tank!

1242, 14"s with balloon tyres, GSR CDA, Powerflow 'zorst, Carfull of ICE and a heavy right foot don't help though!

Would have thought the 1242 would have still had good fuel economy due to it being in a smaller car?

Oh and Cinq Tanks are 35 ltrs right?

Regards,
Matt

i got just over 200 miles from a full tank, god knows what is wrong but that is shocking and is making me very skint!!!! All iv done to the car is powerflow cat bak system and k&n, and my car is running perfect and idles smooth... what is going on with these lil cars??

Yeah, even my buggered (low compression- valves leaking) 1242cc gives better fuel consumption figs than the 1108cc did - but that had done 81k!!!

Basically when i drive my cinq i drive it quite hard most of the time but other cars with bigger engines i tend to make lower rpm gear changes etc.... that's my theory anyway!

My style is dependent on mood. Usually cruise at 70-75mph on mway, but my usual route to/from to uni is a route down backroads (50-80mph- high rpm gearchanging)

I do most miles on mway and get abt 250-270miles from £20 of fuel if im not caning it.

i think my problem is i just constantly cane the **** out of me lil car, on the motorway it kills petrol wen your doin like 105! yey i got over 110 in the cinq the other day was well impressed (y) i reckon the lower rpm gear change theory is so true!!!

red cinqo-you just answered your own problem there! LOL

After nearly 3 years of ownership I would say with out a doubt that redlining it every gear and the petrol goes down fast, maybe scoot up to 60 then floor it or build up speed in 5th and the fuel consumption is no where near as bad.

Keep to 55 and change at 2.5k and the fuel comsumption is wonderful!

I k now this is going to sound weird, but if you actually do the sums, and fuel where you are is similar to here 83.9p per litre, I calculate that you are getting over 38 mpg, which ain't that bad if you are town driving or thrashing it.

Now Fiat guages are just that, gauges. The only way to check it properly is to fill the tank to the neck, run the car and refill back to the neck again, then calculate the consumption properly.

Cheers

D

I do a 305mile journey every so often from north devon to huddersfield (in a sporting), i fill the tank to the neck before i leave, about £27, when i get to hudds, i still have quarter of a tank left. Thats at a steady 80mph, not bad at all i reckon.

my sporting only does around 200 miles if i am lucky, and it seems to idle strangely...i dont really know why?
