On Monday my Punto Mk1 goes into get it's MOT, this will be the first time i've put a car through an MOT! I'm bit nervious coz of a very small chip in the windscreen. Other than that i think the car should get through okay.
Will post up my result on Monday! Anyone know how much a new windscreen would cost? (touch wood!)

claim through your insurance bud and it should cost you £50 to replace the windscreen, at least thats what it says on mines...

get it resin filled?

other than that, claim off the insurance

Depending on the exact size most windscreen companys can do a repair job for you, probably for the cost of your excess (thats without claiming)

Worth pricing it. Out of interest, where exactly on the windscreen is the chip? IIRC it only affects your MOT if its DIRECTLY in your vision area?!

A chip any where on the windscreen will be an instant fail I'm afraid to say

Nope!, It is only a fail if it is in your immediate field of vision, if it's on the passenger side and not the middle it may be okay. Or more than 3 inches long (as this will effect the strenght of the glass)

unfortunately, it is right in my line of view when driving. lol. wish me luck!

In that case you will need to get it sorted, the resin like Diekund suggested is quick and you can't notice it when it's done, but only works well on small chips.

If it's big or has grown legs then it may need replacing but it's only £50 on most insurances.

FAILED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Headlamps not secure (FFS!)

Offside rear fog lamp not working (i thought Puntos only had 1 rear fog light, can some1 confirm this?)

And last but not least...exhaust emissions failure!

The garage that fitted my exhaust are goin to have a good look at it tomorrow and sort it out. Headlamps just need a couple of bolt to hold them in properly. And the just a new bulb for the fog light, if i need it that is.

Even if the Punto does have ony 1 fog light it would always be the offside one .
Otherwise someone would drive into the right hand side of your car in thick fog.

The emissions failure might've been because the catalyst wasn't fully warmed up (I assume it has a catalyst)?

on my mums old mk1 (N Reg) it only had one and it was brand new. we took it back to the dealer and a few more on the forecourt only had one as well, but they managed to get 2 working on ours. My old S reg mk1 had 2 though

i budgered the button for my rear fog light. ive tried new buttons and everything with no luck. any suggestions?

UPDATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mk1 Puntos have 2 rear fog lights, M2 Puntos have just the 1 rear fog light. Having owned a Mk2 before, thats why I was confused!
New bulb, easy peasy!

Exhaust was leakin from the Rage carbon fibre backbox (comon problem with carbon fibre boxes apparently), had this sealed. Lamda sensor cleaned out. Manfold inlet cleaned out. Added fuel treatment. Total bill.....£45!

Headlights just need a couple of clips to bolt them properly, will get from scrappy tomorrow.

Re-sits it's MOT on Thursday. Bloody hope it passes, the MOT expires on Friday!

UPDATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wey hey! Passed it's MOT this morning! Back of the net!

:D
