Rear indicators not of the appropriate colour.!?? They are the only factory fitted lights on the car.

Rear brake pipe corroded and handbrake failed.

Looks like i've got some work to do before the weekend.

Was the rear indicator showing white?

They are easy to check before going but sounds like you got a fussy tester.

Can't do to much about the pipe until they get tested and the handbrake isn't likely to be that bad.

Hope you get a free retest?

couple of new orange bulbs should sort out the indicators

Evil person . Doesn't sound too bad though but not so easy to get work done now the ngihts are drawing in.

I asked if he would accept silver bulbs for the indicators. He said no they had to be orange, I had to explain what they were.
I'm on nights tomorrow so if weather is fine I should get them done in the afternoon when I finish work.

Well finally got it through. I fitted chrome rears and they look OK
Pulled the brakes to bits but couldn't find anything wrong, did a road test and the h/b was still c**p.
So took it back for retest, garage had same problem, but after sanding the pads and descaling the discs got the h/b up to 16% and gave me an advisory. It ONLY cost £77.55
So now I have to find time to strip both rear calipers to find an invisible fault.
But at least I have a year to get it done
