Hahahaha! Jonny, if you read this; I think it was you and I (may be wrong) who said we should hook up a variable resistor jobby instead of the normal fixed resistor to fool the ECU, somebody must have been listening!

My idea was to have a change-over switch so you can kick the resistor in to boost fuelling when you're using full revs and wide-open throttle (i.e. overtaking or racing) and run the proper sensor the rest of the time to avoid knackering the engine.
This variable thing just allows you to vary the fuelling manually - this is even worse than the static resistors, because if you set the fuelling too low you get pre-ignition and overheating, as well as power loss. HIGHLY dangerous. :(

Only difference is that a variable resistor is usually hooked up as a potential divider in a stereo (to give full range of control rather than changes in resistance) AFAIK.

Fitting it tomorrow? Bet it would look proper bo next to your Sat Nav!

my mate just pointed out that you do get some cable ties with it... probably its best selling point.

"This works in largely the same way as a chip (such as those sold by Superchips) "

utter rubbish, works nothing like a superchip in the slightest.

"This kit makes the ECU supply ever so slightly more fuel to the cylinders and slightly advances the ignition. Together this gives you much more power."

Does It Nuts. It deprives the engine of one of the sensors it uses to govern fuelling by gauging oxygen content by volume in the air. The effect of this will quickly be dialled out by the Lambda sensor telling the ecu it's running too rich - and we're talking milliseconds here.

"If you want PROPER power gains and the convenience of a fully variable control then this is for you."

Poo.

"Works best with a performance air filter or full induction kit. With the standard air filter you should see good gains - especially in the upper rev range!"

Works best if supporting other rubbish from the bottom of a bin, he means.
