Quick question,

im taking front wings off a mk2a
im on the last bolt..or altleast all the others where bolts,
the top bolt in wing near windscreen is like a stud not a ribe/torx or bolt

:confused: how do you get these out ideas,?


(window screen is boshed removing plastic on scuttle :eek:, but no room for angle grinder..drill is burnt out, ideas"?)
 
Can't 100% picture the bolt, (thought they were all torx), but would a female or male extractor grip it enough to loosen it?

nope not on this one, its more like a anti tamper bolt :confused:
tried mole grips on it but no joy..bad wrist dont help.

other side top bolt was a female torx style one,

Hmm..I'm looking at my car now trying to see this bolt but the sun's too bright off the yellow :D but mine look like torx, maybe yours has previously been replaced?

Yes bad wrist would not help at all, suppose you wouldn't want to apply heat to that area?

Can you not force a 6 sided socket over it to loosen it? Sorry if you've tried these just trying to think what to do :)

oh dear
its easy isnt it to do this

anyway on early punto it was usually allen key to do this top bolt
i used allen key 1/4 socket attachement
it was always the one in the sill gave me grief not windscreen one:p
 
the bolt is hidden under seal/weather strip.
so hard to see with this on,

no carnt heat it paint will bubble, trying to save wings for my sporting,
or otherwise id weigh them in with shell,

not much room for getting anything in there,
imight have to buy another drill and drill it out,

ithink someones rounded the inside of it off,.not me,
most probs previous body shop/Bodge'r.

other bolts came out easy ish execpt for ones on side skirts,
 
What is the glue thats on the wings?
is it sikaflex,

going to put these wings on the other punto is this glue/ bonding needed?

when you come to refit wing just trial fit it
the only usual problem is where inner wing bolt to a post bolts sometimes theres too much stick there
dont forget to put inner guard on bottom of wing before liner
and more importantly get a bolt into upper wing rail so wing doesnt clip screen and break it in your good car
you can leave bumper and door on
just put some tape on top and bottom of door so you dont scratch it
or
take door off once well and wrist good/
10 minute job tops to remove it
then fit wing/ replace door adjust wing forward /backwards
