Styling mk2 mirrors!

i have ordered these mirrors from ffwd ne one know how hard they r to fit n will they fit onto a mk2 punto the guy said they would but they r a universal fitting mirror does mean i will need to do mods on them??

yeah i hope so thought id go 4 somthin different cause a lot of people got dtm n mark3 ill go speak to the body shop 2morrow see what they gotta say about it!

You need baseplates to make them fit - which do not exist for a mk2 anymore!!!! A while ago I ordered a set of M3 plates from Motorworld, they came and didnt fit. Last week I ordered a set from directcarparts, they came yesterday and didnt fit. They were ordered as Fiat Punto 2002- (i dont know why 2002 onwards...????) but neither fit

Also because theyre M5 or SLR mirrors (I cant tell) you'll need plates to fit this mirror aswell as the car.

Please if you ever find these plates from anywhere LET ME KNOW!!!!!!!

i just spoke to the guy at ffwd and he said they have ordered them in and i will have them by thursday! and i said is this 100% and he told me it is so ill wait and see! bodystylist the member he has some dtm mirrors that fit a punto if u wanted them?

Ive already got some M3 mirrors ready to fit, and I dont like the look of the dtm's- thx for telling me anyway.

Might have a play around with these wrong ones to make them fit

ive got dtms on my mk2.as previously dicussed no base plates fit!i ordered the base plates from motorworld never the less cut the door around that circular bit andband em on! its tnhe only way..............

in detail.the bit of the door that the mirror is fixed to is a round embossed shape. i had the door took off and had this bit cut out. the base plates from motorword now fit if you drill holes for the back of the plate.a piece of metal is behind the plate to bolt to.then i sealed it with as much sealent as posible.

going to skeg this weekend? if yes you can have a look.

im going fri evening and leaving saturday avo cus i need to be somewhere else.not stayin at butlins tho.do you know wher i can fin people that are going on friday?

Hmmmm, Ive decided I dont want to cut into the door. Ive heard someone is on to making a new baseplate so im gonna wait for that.

i got my mirrors i love them but they dont fit directly on according to the bloke at the garage he said he will b able to get them on but hed need to drill holes so i dunno what to do? he said he charge me £20 so that aint 2 bad!

ok jus phoned up ffwd motorsport and they say the mirrors will fit on without ne drilling he sais its just a tight fit so only 1 way to find out im gunna have a play this afternoon and let u know!
also he sais that the base plate is molded of the exact same one as a fiat so they will fit?? ill let u know!

the mk2 mirrors actually fit straight onto the door, no plate, so i feel they do not know the product or vehicle correctly. Many companies say this, but they are used to dealing with fords, honda's etc the mk2 punto do not have a mounting plate that fits (exept the dtm's i sell )
