In the near future im looking to get some alloys, now ive heard 17's are the biggest you can go but can rub, 15' are nice but i always liked the big rim look, so if i were to get 16's, would i need to make any modifications in order for the wheels not to rub and such like?

I have 15" sporting alloys (off a mk2b) and it looks low enough at the back imo.

The problem with 16" alloys is the tyre price, they cost more than 15" and 17"

16" wheels can be more expensive than 17's and 15's as they just arent as common so tyres can be quite expensive. I would go for either 15's or 17's - 15's for comfort and 17's for style

When I put 17's on mine I didnt really notice a massive difference, but you only really notice it when you put your steelies back on!!! huge difference!!!!

i had 17" on my 5dr and i had no problems, I just needed 3mm spacers on the rear!

aswell if you click on my Riccimouse name at the side there is a picky there of my mk2b with 17" and my m8s mk2 with 15" back to back, (both 5drs)
