Technical mk2 1.2 8v gearbox oil

ive been trying to find the right grade gearbox oil for my mk2 and after endless search google I came out with nothing so im wondering what is the right grade oil for the mk2 gearbox, just im having trouble with 2nd gear it wont slot in when idling but when driving it slots in just fine, im also getting noises from the gearbox and a lot of flat spots so ive had it at a garage and they have said it sounds like the oil is past it or is low.


I was planning on changing it anyway.

I seem to remember that this is covered in the handbook. I bought gearbox oil from Halfords.

SAE75W-80 GL5 should do it. A little over 1.5 litre to drain and refill.
