Hi.
I have a nice Mk1 Uno Turbo engine which has been modified to fit the X19. I think this includes the distributor on the engine block, X19 gearbox, X19 sump, perhaps the engine mounts and a few other bits n pieces?

Bar the gearbox would could this go straight into my Uno or would it be best to convert everything back?

Cheers.

MK2 distributor will be OK, just remember to get MK2 leads (Extra long HT to coil wire) and MK2 dizzy cap.

Gearbox is OK if you like 1 forward gear and 5 reverse (y) well maybe not.

don't know about the mounts, what Uno is it going in as the existing mount points may be the wrong ones if it's the fire engine.

have no idea about the sump.

how long have the plugs been out for? not all rusty inside the engine is it?

Good luck with it!

Looks beautiful (y)

Louie - shame on you - the gearbox would have five forward and one reverse :D The engine/gearbox face the same way in the X1/9 as in the Uno. The only slight snag would be that someone would have to sit in front of the engine to change gears.

I've tried sitting on the targa bar of my X1/9 holding a video camera (someone else driving) and even just that was pretty terrifying at 80km/h, so sitting/standing in the engine bay would be exciting too...

To get back on topic, I think I'd suggest buying an X1/9 and seeing the project through...! But otherwise, if you have a 1116/1301cc Uno, you should have all the parts to make that fit.

The idea was to put it into my Mk1 Uno Turbo as it's a fully rebuilt engine.

The gearbox can be swapped, but the distributor was confusing me as it was not on the end of the cam and made me wonder if it was a 1300/1500 x19 block?

The Sparkplug holes are fine, they're plugged up with some corks at the moment.

 sorry it sounded funny and didn't think it through

the MK2 has the block mounted distributor to make room for the larger air flow meter up near the cam. The 1301cc turbo has a plastic blanking plug and a wire clip on the block where the distributor lives on the MK2.

the actual distributors have different drive dogs so you'd need to put your MK1 distributor on it if you want to run a cam mounted dizzy.
