Does anyone know where Icould find the "L" shaped-item in stock?
(Photo robbed from Sean)
I know I could make it easily enough but it would be nice to have one of known correct domensions since they are completely gone on my car.

Here you go Peter.
This is the best I can do.
I think I have the original dimensions in my garage somewhere!
I have measured the ones in place on mine. they should be accurate enough to make them.

Sean, that is well beyond the call of duty and will make the job easy. I appreciate you putting in the time and effort.
I have worked out that once the floor is welded in, that piece is the best thing to fit next as it lets me keep the existing inner sill in place for longer.
I might even be able to slip in that corrugated re-inforcement/connecting plate before completely removing the sills.
It sounds stupid, given the state of that car, that I don't want to disrupt the aligments, but everything seems to have slipped into the right place now that its levelled and solid on blocks. and I don't want to lose that.
Thanks again.(y)

By the way, I meant to point you to this bodywork restoration of a 500 in my birth town of Preston. It was what finally inspired me that the car was restorable.
They do some amazing things and not just with the 500.
I think that Mitchio might be in better condition as purchased.

I came across them after following one of your previous photos you added.
Not too dissimilar to the amount of work on mine with the exception of the rear roof repair. That will take some covering up on the inside. Probably best to go for one of those fancy head linings that cover the full interior roof.
Im sure with your skills and patience you will be able to bring Mitchio back to life!

Not done nowt because of holidays and non-car-related jobs, but I did take receipt of this very rare and expensive internal roof panel for the 500.

It prevents me from calling the restoration impossible as it answers my prayer as to how this complex shaped panel could be repaired.

Just in case anyone thinks I have given up on this "project".
I haven't been able to get near Mitchio with a welder for the last six months as our property, where the electricity comes from, has been tenanted for six months. I will have up to a two week window shortly, between tenants, when I hope to at least get the floor and sill on one side fitted.:)

what? haven't you finished bluebell either?
Na! Baby Bluebell has had to take pause whilst I have been doing some serious front suspension mechanics on my C3 Picasso, chopped down several trees in two locations for next winter's wood supply, subsequently putting a new piston and cylinder into the chainsaw!, given our holiday cottage the annual makeover and built the penultimate bathroom in our self-build house. Today I took delivery of a replacement gearbox for the C3. 5th gear has gone and I'm hoping to transfer the appropriate cogs in-situ. Then I have large Velux window to fit, a stone wall and patio area to build and a new, permanent, timber garage for my collection of rust.

By then, knowing me, I'll have bought another pile of scrap.:bang:

PS. Also just rebuilt the laptop I'm using after wrecking the keyboard with a cup of coffee.

And when do you fit work in?

Simple answer....often I don't!
I have a very open and flexible employment arrangement meaning that I am on call, to field enquiries and to follow up leads 24/7. My employer reciprocates this by taking me on trust and accepting that I fit in snippets of work activity throughout almost every day.
I'm pretty sure that I'm occupied for more than my notional average of two days a week by this method but it works a treat for both of us.
The best employer and job in the world.
