I always check my breather pipe every few weeks after in blocking up about six months ago. As a consequence of this I changed the rocker cover gasket, but I thought that the head gasket was okay.
Today I checked the breather pipe and there was some milky residue in it. There is no milky residue in the filler cap, and no other signs that this could be a head gasket issue.
Is this anything to worry about, or can it only be a head gasket leak?
Thanks,
Andrew

Normal when damp air and oil vapour mix.

Often found in cars that do short journey.. never get HOT enough to 'bake dry'

At this stage ..dont worry..
Just keep an eye on fluids (as usual)

Charlie : I owned the same 1.1 FIRE in 3 different cars @ 8 years ago...

The engine is not loosing coolant. I don't use the car every day. Maybe a few days a week, doing 20 mile each.
As I said, the oil filler cap is clean and there are no other signs of head gasket trouble..
Thanks for the replies.
Andrew
