Got my car in April 2007... i've done just over 7000 miles so far... is that bad??? i mean i've never had a brand new car before and i feel bad every mile i do lol :) i know it's probably me being stupid but hey :)

lol... i bought mine in April too... 16,700 miles so far ;) but then I do use it for work (y) I expect to change cars at two years, which equates to 80-100k for me!
edit: miles reduce the value of your car, but it depends on how long you take paying for it, or even that it may be a lease car ect as to whether to worry about it.....

I'm paying for this one over three years, so if I do 80-90k in two years , it should be worth about 5k when I sell, an I'll owe about 4k on it... so should work out ok! :)

Appologies for the sarcasm but some of the things I read in this forum never cease to amaze me.

Completely agree,

Drive when and where you want, wont make a huge difference in trade in time anyway. :)

What's the point of buying a brand new car if you're not going to drive it and just let it sit in the garage? ;)

the whole point on spending thousands of pounds on a brand new car is to enjoy it to the max once you have it so don't worry about the milage.

i hve done 31,000 miles in my car its 17months old.the milage aint a problem its the wear and tear that comes with the mileage that really bothers me dreaded stonechips everywhere before i got it resprayed after the smash i was in it looked terrible.the bonnet was covered in them front bumper aswell even the door mirrors got it badly.but come spring hopefully i will change it for a abarth if its up to it.will take a lot to beat the m-jet(y)

LMFAO... What's a car bra?

lmao i know it sounds stupid but they are meant to prevent stinechips to your bonnnet. (y)

I used to do around 28,000 miles a year.

The more miles you do and the longer you keep it, the better value per mile you get.
Enjoy you`re new car(y)

Regards

Leave the `car bra`s` to the Yanks:D I`m working on a `full set` for mine though. Problem is the exhaust keeps burning through the gusset on the knickers:D

To be serious, We had those `bra` things on Beetles in the 70`s. Nothing ruins the paint quicker. It used to `cloud` almost overnight.
Something to do with damp and being `almost` sealed from the atmosphere. I wouldnt want to risk one even on modern laquer.
To me though the sight of one just shrieks `UNCOOL` ...........

Regards:)

These "bra's" were designed for people living in desert climates (California, Texas, Saudi Arabia etc) where the wind would suddenly whip up without warning & LITERATELY sand-blast the front of your car, taking ALL of the paint off. Trust me, you would be SERIOUSLY annoyed if your brand new car was sandblasted to the metal.......

I've been there & seen the ultimate damage a sandstorm (or hailstorm) will do to a car. It's frightening.

Sorry about your knickers though - perhaps you should try M&S. They have a good range that may fit you. They also do some good heels & suspender belts....

I`ll stick with `body paint` I think.........:D

Good luck with the mod anyway if you decide to go for it

I remember a group buy on these on the mk2 forum.

On VWs etc I like them, i'm undecided on other cars though.

If you want to protect from stonechips then it's fair enough I see alot of these on 4x4s and I like them.
