Hi all. Today we're gonna do some bulb replacing work.
Time required: 20-30 minutes, provided you have the replacement bulbs
Tools required: 1 phillips screwdriver, 1 pliers
Skills required: Well, you have to know how to use a screwdriver
First of all, test the light and see which bulbs don't work. Mark them, do a drawing, write them down, you don't want to replace the wrong ones. If you have a 12v power supply, you can test them later.
Open the boot and locate the 5 screws that hold down the plastic cover where the light is. Undo those. Undo the middle one last so you can hold the whole thing easily.
I removed the two plastic clips that hold the plastic mount to the plastic cover. The light is screwed to this mount, so you might be able to skip this step. IF you decide to remove them use angle nosed pliers, compress the sides of the plastic clip and push it down with your finger, making sure you don't injure yourself (finger + pliers).
Undo the 3 screws that hold the light down to its mount.
Undo the 4 screws that keep the light together. Pry it open, there shouldn't be much resistance.

Replace the faulty bulbs. If you have a 12v supply you can try something else instead. Hook the connector up to it and then tap the fault bulbs with your fingernail a few times. Give it a few strong taps, and it might start working again. If so, there's no need to fix it. Remove the supply before removing any of the bulbs to avoid short circuiting the supply.
Reassemble everything in the opposite order. Secure the connector to the light using the plastic clip (if it exists). Be careful to line up those velcro-looking tabs when you put the cover back to the boot lid.
If you have a helper, have them press the brake pedal for you with the ignition on. Don't forget that the light won't work with the boot open.. See if everything is working correctly.
If you don't have a helper, turn the engine on, press the brake pedal and jam it with a screwdriver. Turn the engine off, turn the ignition on again and see if it works. Don't forget to remove the screwdriver after you're done
