Technical measuring compression while engine is removed from car

measuring compression while engine is removed from car

i got two 1.2 engines but one of them got bad hg while the other is good, gonna sell one so dont wanna sell bad engine and need to be sure which one is good without removing head

i was thinking of putting windy gun on crank bolt and spin it to right and measure compression

anyone tried that already?

Surely sticking a scrappy starter on it and a battery switch and jumper leads is best bet?
