Decided about time it got a proper thread :D

Had it for 3 months now, and its a thirsty blighter - struggle to get anywhere near the quoted 18mpg (can do it on a long run though) and has used a few litres of oil too... but i'm absolutely in love with it, when out for a weekend thrash it never fails to put a smile on your face but equaly pootling through a 30 zone cant help but grin (y)

Did have a boost problem with the first turbo then the second turbo, eventually traced to the Apexi ECU so that got replaced and then remapped :) boosts to a steady 1bar on both turbo's now also rather than the standard 0.6-0.7 and runs a bit cooler (due to fan management being easier on the apexi)

Did fly through its MOT recently too :D and have removed the ugly bolt on foglight from the back - now has 1 reverse light and 1 fog light instead of the 2 reverse lights and all wired up correctly etc.

Plans: not much, possibly a decat for some epic flames (pops and bangs even with a cat in it) also looking to get a set of standard RX7 wheels so i can go along to a drift what you brung day and get to grips (excuse the pun) with drifting it a bit more :)

Have driven it in most conditions now, Ice, Snow, Heavy Rain, Brilliant sunshine etc - and its much easier to drive than the MR2's were and similarily tail happy but much much more controllable when it does let go :D

i like.... i like ALOT! :D

i know what you mean about them being tail happy but controlable, i've had the pleasure of driving one on a racetrack, it was superb!!!, i was sliding it about everywhere and didnt spin it once (came close a few times though :D )

Not around for a while then you drop this little beauty. I am sick of people making me jealous :( lol Looks like a nice tidy motor. I know it will be something silly but you done a 0-60 on it?

Heh i've had a play in some quiet car parks (chavvy but a safe off the road place to get to know your car a bit better) and they can really drift quite easily - though the turning circle is a bit rubbish, when people drift them they generally get longer track rod ends to help with angle wheels can turn to.

Am about on/off but generally on net alot less than used to be not just here - RX7 forums dont quite get the mix of nutters that this place sometimes does :D

0-60 hasnt been timed yet but it has plenty of acceleration and the guy before me took it on the drag strip once, was his first time on the drag strip and managed a 13.7 - I'm hoping to pull a 13.0 out of it (the street drag series @ shakespeare county raceway that i'm in means if i run a 12.9 then i move up to the next bracket) Great fun though :worship:

And before they come under scrutiny the wheels were going to be changed but have changed my mind a bit for now as they really have grown on me.

Update:

Fitted a decat and a new exhaust to the car :D

And it ran the 13.0 i wanted it to and got me a nice trophy :D (excuse the bugs lol surprisingly it needed a wash after the 1/4 mile runs)

After a year of driving though the front rotor has thrown a tip (probably because i didnt get the map adjusted once the Decat was fitted not really the cars fault) :(

Its being fixed up though and getting a streetport and going no sequential on the turbos while its there :D should be taking it to a Rotary specialist next week then get it back 4-6 weeks after that :)

Might be up for sale in the summer though, as might be selling the Bora and the RX7 and getting 1 car as a compromise :( But thats a while away yet :D

Ahh He's off FDUK then :D

Cant put my finger on his nick though, i think they're Ash and Matts FD's with it though :)

Get the RX7 back from having engine rebuild with streetporting and non-sequential turbo conversion tomorrow :D

Loving it :D.

Must be costly paying for the specialists that are Rotary "aware" or are they like any other cars?

Like any performance car really, people who know what they're doing cost money heh :)

Rebuild cost was in excess of £2,500 but thats with the streetporting and non-sequential conversion, and a new clutch

I'm doing runin miles atm, 300 of 1,000 done :)

Nice Rex Alex. Advan 3 spokes are made of WIN, shame it's thrown a rotor tip though.

Technically its running now :D lol full power map once its run in though :)

I like these a lot, was looking at getting one of these or a 200sx s13 to replace the MR2 as I want a proper skid car.

3 spokes must be coming back in to fashion now, I've seen loads of cars with them on recently!

I went from MR2's to the RX7 - its just immesurable how awesome the RX7 is compared to the MR2, so much more nimble and controllable and doesnt try to kill you if the backend goes out heh :D

funny you should mention the 3 spokes, I never used to spot many but spot a few now just put it down to me having them though
