Technical mayo in oil cap

hi peeps,
just checked my wifes punto mk1 60s 1998 for oil today it needed a bit, but i saw like mayo in the top of oil cap,is this the start of the HG going,not running hot runs normal and runs good,any advice thankyou for your time.

How much mayo was there?...it can be a sign of H/G going....but could also be condensation

As in half a teaspoon, spread over, like a couple of mm thick?

Are you having any other problems at all?...heater blowers working? you say its not running hot. Had you been driving it before you looked or was it just running on idle?

heater blowers working great, i took on m62 to see if ok for about half hour. the mayo was right at the top of the cap. cheers

mmm well i would wipe it off and drive again and see what occurs.

Seeing as there are no other signs, although always best to err on the side of caution

lots of small journeys, where engine doesnt get to running temp can cause this, without a HG problem
