Bravo Matthewr1990's T-Jet Bravo Dynamic

Introduction

So after months of looking around, researching, test driving and even a little fight (don't ask). I have finally got myself a Bravo. And what a beauty she is. It's a (57 plate), Dynamic, T-jet 120.

Goodbye Megane. You horrible excuse of a car!

Now can someone point me in the direction of a new brain. Even the climate control confuses the hell out of me LMAO. Gonna need a really good read of the manual.

Anyway. The car has a full service history and only has 57,000 miles, it had got a broken glove box but the garage is sorting this for me. It's coming with 9 months mot, 6 months tax and warranty, it's just had new belt's, water pump, brakes and two front tyres. It's in beautiful shape with no dents although there is paint work damage on the rear bumper. It's not deep, they're just surface scratches and no dent so god knows what they hit or did lmao. But it's not severe and barely visible from a distance, so it will be sorted when and if I'm ready.

QUESTION: being as this is a 57 plate car. Will it be able to connect to my iPhone 5 with a software update and the right connector?

So anyway without further ado here she is. She will have a name in due time

Good looking interior

Considering it's 6 years old, the upholstery is immaculate

Beautiful colour

So what do you think?
Re: My new Bravo :D

So firstly a BIG BIG BIG shout out to swift who not only helped me source the lights but sat through annoying conversations with me to help me fit them. But I now have LED DRL's. And they look stunning. They're wired to the fuse box so they are on as soon as you turn the key. And another cool thing is when you turn the car off they stay on for about 20 seconds or so. So yeh Thank you Swift! I apreciated it dude.

Anyway here they are:

Daytime on their own

Night time on their own

Night time with LED sidelight on as well

And finally the full effect, DRL, Led Sidelight and my HID's

Re: My new Bravo :D

I need some help with this lads...

Basically, I've had a go myself but it sucks real bad.

It looks good in the night time, but really poor in daylight - do you boys feel the same way? When I pulled it out the factory unit I could barely see them outside! :(

Also, I've wired mine into the sidelights because I was struggling to find a switch live - which did you use Matt?

Cheers (y)

They're not fantastic in the daylight I'll admit but they're meant to be looked at directly by the looks of them, where as we are diverting the light through the side of the glass. But I think it still looks brilliant.

From swifts excellent advice I wired the live to the battery, and then through a case of trial and error wired the earth to a fuse in the engine bay, the first one I used kept the lights on constantly. Even with engine off, the second one allows it to come on as soon as I turn the key to ignition. It also keeps the lights on for about 20 seconds after I turn the car off which I think is really cool. To wire it to the battery I lifted a nut and wrapped the wire around the bolt and tightened the nut again. To attach it to the fuse I just wrapped the other wire around one of the prongs of the fuse and stuck it back in, It was a red fuse with 10 on the top.

Re: My new Bravo :D

evenin everybody am thinkin of doin this whats peoples opinions

More than likely will cost a fortune.

See my project thread for my exhaust, I went to longlife and got a cat back exhaust for £329. I went for twin exit on the left hand side only, even though I wanted twin exit both sides.

The problem is the fuel lines and fuel fill up pipe run down the right hand side of the car, so obviously to avoid the risk of your car exploding you would have to;

*Move the pipes to one side as best as they could
*Install some further heat shield to the area
*Then of course run the actual exhaust pipework

Everything is possible - but I think all the additional work would cost a bomb in both materials and time. And even then, with the heat shield there, would you feel safe in the knowledge only a small amount of metal is between the exhaust and the fuel lines for the car?

Also, I don't want to sound like a forum Nazi... because that's genuinely not my intention, hence me answering your question. But this thread is for Matt's car, and as such should only really contain discussion about Matt's car. It's only fair if we keep it on topic (y)

Plus, if you were to create your own thread "Opinions on this exhaust?" for example, you would gain far more attention than an individual post in someone else's car/ project thread :)

Like I said, I don't want to be a forum nerd, but if you want to discuss your car, discuss it in your own thread, not Matt's :)

Re: My new Bravo :D

And so the preparation begins for my plastidip :)

The final result will always be more dependant on the preperation. So I've removed my grills to wash them and then bathe them in boiling water and a really strong de-greaser I stole from work that "isn't safe of non industrial use" haha. So where did I do it? In the bath and shower obviously. Missus isn't happy (y).

So when I do start blacking out my grill and bumper tomorrow I'm still unsure on what to do with the fiat badge. I'm leaving the T-jet badge as is because it's cool. But I'm obviously blacking out the chrome around the grill. So regarding the fiat badge I have many choices:

•Black it out completely so that it's fully black on the front

•Black out just the chrome bit and leave the red fiat inside visible. This I've done before on my Grande Punto rear badge so just imagine the below badge on the front of the bravo fully blacked out with just the red fiat bit showing.

•I can leave the fiat badge alone altogether and black out everything else so it draws more attention to the big chrome and red fiat badge?

What's people opinions?

(Those that don't know about plastidip, just a quick intro, it's a sprayable rubber that comes in or sorts of colours, it will cover almost anything and looks brilliant, protects whatever it is that it's covering, it's relatively cheap and the best bit? If you apply enough layers it's completed peel-able. That means when I have enough of the blacked out look or when I come to sell it, I just peel it all off leaving everything underneath exactly how it was when I sprayed it)

Plastidip is the way man (y) just a word of warning, and you might probably know this already, pastidip isn't a great friend to stones. So if there is small stones and gravel on the road that could get flung up, they'll chip the black away and it could look a bit scruffy. I've heard so many guys complain about this, and honestly wish they made chip resistant plastidip. Some guys decided to come up with their own solutions, and decided to mix spray paint with plastidip to create a hard chip resistant compound :D can't imagine they'll be able to peel it off with easy :D

When it comes to the badge, what do you mean black it out completely? As in all you'll see is this black thing that looked like it was a badge in it's past life? I think maybe you could black out the background and get the fiat and chrome to be red (or whatever colour depending on what other colour trim you'd want on your car). Or of you're not going for another colour of trim on your car, just black out the chrome and leave it standard red (y)
