Hi,

Welcome to the forum, sorry to hear about your problem.

Check the timing belt to see if its snapped or lost some teeth. It sounds from your description that this may be the case.

I had a timing belt snap on me once, I actually got out of the car and had a look around to see what I had hit 'cos the car stopped that suddenly with a bang.

Let us know what you find.

checked cam belt it was tight, was thinking along lines of solonoid stuck. or somthing

jst engaged reverse, biting point and cut out.

????????????

had this prob on an opel kadett yrs ago...sounds like one of the cam followers are broke. if one has gone then the rest must be dodgy also. cam wll need removan and repair, u might as well do the timing belt as well. t'wil cost u only the price of the belt anyway as thee timing will have to be reset again. hope this helps
