Hi guys,

All new to this forum, so first of all hi to all :)

I just bought a Fiat Ducato II 2.8 i.d.TD motorhome from 2000, and starting to learn all about it.:slayer:

I want to take good care of her, so i bought a belladd motorcleaning kit to apply before doing a oilchange. Thing is, that belladd needs to be injected into the turbo after the MAF sensor.

Following the tube from the airfilter down to the turbo, i am not able to locate any air flow sensor?

Does this engine work without a flow sensor or am i just missing it?

Thank you :)

Hi,

A 2.8 idTD will not have a mass airflow sensor, as it will not have EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation).

Even my 2006 2.8JTD has neither. EGR was an option when it was built. It took some looking at diagrams, before I confirmed to myself that the inlet manifold would be very different if EGR was fitted.

You may wish to note that neither of these engine versions uses conventional glow plugs. The cold start device which only operates at sub zero temperatures is like a mini flame thrower in the inlet manifold, see following link. It is quite illuminating (pun intended).
