General Lowest profile tyres

Hi i need lower profiles to maximise my 0-60. So my question is will these fit my cinq and are the continentals any good:

Continental SportContact 195/40 R14 73V

If not am i better off going for 195/45 Toyos as i have so many reviews saying how good they are?

Ok i can see the 195/45's are the same rolling diameter as the 13's so im guessing its the best option. Ignore this ive sorted it myself. 195/45 Toyos for me eventually.

However I have reread the first post and the OP wants to maximise his 0-60. Now this either means he wants to take a week to get to 60mph, so I would suggest Dump truck tyres, although these may require some minor arch modifications.

He actally wants to minimise his 0-60. This is a far more dificult equation as the difference in tyre size is not the only factor. A lower profile tyre may mean that getting to 60 in 2nd gear is impossible and the extra time to make a change to 3rd would negate the benefit. It needs someone far cleverer than me to do the sums on that one.

A standard cinq would not make 60mph in 2nd, I'm certain of it. I'm not sure if the gearing would even allow for 60mph in second?

Yes it has been pionted out that the top end will be lowered with lower profile tyres but come on how many Cinq's on here hit the rev limiter in top anyway I never even hit it in my Cinq, so its not really vaild, if you want a faster car get the lower profile.

Mase the car should be slightly quicker, but you are right it will be hardly noticable.

What will be more noticable is that the 195/45 is much closer to the original tyres rolling radius and therefore the speedo should in theory be more accurate and not be under reading by as much as it would with the bigger tyre, so the perception could be that you are faster as you look at the speedo, if you follow

yea that is wat i thought! the speedo is pretty accurate tho, only maybe 1-2mph out when doin 30!

p.s: paid cheque in today, and made sure my whole weekend is clear for u to com get the imola!

With 15's my tomtom says my speedo is 100% accurate, up to 100....

no, they usually over read by about 10%

well apperently the speedos on the centos show about 10% quicker than u are actually goin, so according to that theory u would have to have aout 33mph on the speedo before u were actually goin 30mph!

if that makes sence to anyone lol

i dont c a problem there... ive got -60mm springs arriving tomorrow (hopefully) and will be fitting 195/45 tyres in a couple of months!

Yeah but you donbt have the laguna splitter on the front. Plus its all country roads down here in Dorset. lol
