I've got a Bravo 80SX as my first car, and it's got a couple of problems.

Firstly, I only just got 300 miles out of the last tank.

Secondly, it is really jerky when accelerating, until it hits 3k rpm when I get a power surge. When I first got the car, it only did it when the engine was cold, but now it happens most of the time.

I've just had the timing belt changed on it, as there was no history of it being done when I bought the car.

Any ideas what it could be? It was MOTed last month.

Thanks

When was the last full service ?

Last service in the book was 2005 I think, although the guy said it had been done since then. Worth getting it done?

Er....YEAH !! LOL

Rule of thumb is at least once a year, more frequently if you do lots of miles.

Ok :$

I'll get down to the garage tomorrow afternoon to get it booked in. Any idea how much it will cost me? My timing belt with tensioner and aux belts cost me £130 cash.

Good service on a 1.2 wll be iro £130 I would have thought.

I just had a full service on my 1.8 with all oils, plugs and filters changed and all in it was £150.

Depends on your garages labour costs.

Low MPG/Jerky Acceleration

I have the low MPG but my Bravo 1.2 just had the Clyn. Head machined skimming and some new sparks and oil change and it looks like the fuel consumption is a little bit less what was 280 to a tank i believe is look to be a bit more still way above 1/2 with 140 on the clock
