Hi fellow 500 owners im new to this forum . I have owned a 500 twin air sport for 7 months now and love it apart from one major issue ! I cannot get the seat comfy for my lower back. I have faffed about with cushions /no cushions / seat up high or low and injust cant find a good position. I love the car but the seat issue is getting me down ! I have the part leather part fabric grey/black sports seats. Does anyone know if 500 lounge or pop seats are firmer ? Does anyone else even get this issue or am I a funny shape lol ? Any input would be great thankyou

Oo yes I think iv had the seat base in every possible position there is ! I find it better in a low setting but after 10 mins of driving it hurts my lower back again . But not as much as when the seats in a higher position.

Can't say I've had the same problem, I've driven 200+ miles to Wales without a stop and haven't encountered any problems. This may sound silly but my friend had a similar problem to you and he put a heated pad behind his back and plugged it into the charging port. I do believe that the padded lounge seats are more comfortable though :/

A heated pad seems a good idea :) iv ordered a back support thing to put on my seat so hopefully that will help. Next time I change cars I may have to go for the lounge interior ! Bit gutted I didnt really cos I love the red and cream look inside. :)

Yea not too sure either , I read somewhere that the lounge seats are firmer to sit on rather than sink into . I dunno maybe iv just got an awkward driving position lol

I very much doubt there is any difference in the firmness of the cushions. The only difference is in the shape of the seat and the fabric.

We have a Lounge and a Twinair (sport seats) the TA seats are way more supportive, more lumbar support too.
My wife always comments when we are in the TA that seats are more supportive.

Try moving the seat forward slightly - you may be unwittingly leaning forward causing strain to your lower back, also try messing with steering wheel height adjustment - again this can affect your back

Good point.. ; ) And more upright too. MOST folk drive with the seat too reclined too.
Unless you can put your wrist on the top of the steering wheel with full arm extension you are too far away.

The seats in my TA+ are excellent & I have a seriously knackered back.

I've done 600 miles in one day in mine and no probs with seat comfort. In fact better than my previous BMW 135i seats! Do hanker after the extra 4 cyl's at times tho lol

Did 240 miles with just one pee stop (ok, had a cheeky McMilkshake too:slayer:) No problem.

Done 1100 in one day in my Brera. I was knackered after that:(

Well I have tried this morn whilst on the road to lower steering wheel down . This is alot better ! Encourages me to sit up straight rather than roll shoulders forward ! Hurray:))) some other cars do have better lumbar support but then other cars dont look or drive as nicely as my beloved florence haha . Heres to me hopefully solving my knackered back problem finally :) )))

I find a carbon/kevlar race seat works wonders:

Unless you can put your wrist on the top of the steering wheel with full arm extension you are too far away.

It's the dreaded Italian Driving Position -- I'd love to sit one notch closer to the steering wheel, but then my legs are too close to the pedals and it gets awkward and cramped.

These cars are definitely built for people with long arms and short legs :yuck:

Well iv definatly got short legs but think I have short arms to match :/
