Technical Lost drive

Currently got a mk1 sporting 1998 the car started juddering the other day i know i have lost all drive to the wheels. I jacked up the car today and even with the right wheel down and the car bein in gear the left whhel spins freely is this correct or should it stop any help would be much appreciated

Broken driveshaft / coupling?

I had an accident in my Mk1 Punto and whilst limping home we lost drive...Looked underneath and the RH driveshaft had come out due to the engine mounting being broken and the engine twisting!

Car would then just rev and go nowhere....

think it might be a driveshaft just i wasnt sure if the wheel should spin while the car is in gear and the other wheel on the ground

its either the driveshaft or the differential. you should be able to see if its the driveshaft, if you put full steering lock on.
