Looking for Irish X1/9 with reg ZV17455

I spent 7 years of my life restoring this car, I know intimate details about this car and its history only such a person would know.

Its a 1300 on the taxbook, 1500 in the engine bay. It has 1300 bumpers, and a unique front spoiler across the bottom of the car in front of the radiator that is removable to allow easy access to the radiator.. I fabricated this myself by hand as a 17 year old, 10 years ago now. I sold it to a man in Tulla Co. Clare. He sold it to a garage there and I dont know where it went after that.

If purchasing it back isnt an option, I at least would like to fill in the current owner with the details of its history

If anybody knows where this car is, I want it back, or at least for the new owner to know the time and effort to restore that car.

I also know x1/9s inside out (I've restored 4 including this one)

Thanks

A nice bit of history there 👍

In the UK, all vehicle records are held in a Government place in Swansea,
You can do basic checks for free.. Online, 😊

Like it's NCT /MOT (Road safety annual check) if it's out of test for more than a few years your search might get tricky

Sometimes it's "locked away.. Being saved.." Or it may have come to it's end of life

Any provision for this in Eire? 🤔

Only the gardai and tax office know personal information, its nct exempt due to age but it would be possible to book one (but why would anyone), except I'd need the date of first registration. To check if its taxed I'd need to know the last 5 digits of the chassis number, which I dont have. I started restoring this car when i was 15/16 years old, and as I said before it took 7 years to get the body restored and a 1500 engine and 5 speed rebuilt and fitted (I was a teenager with an evening and weekends job so money was tight), I cut the notch in the chassis leg to fit the 5th gear from a 1500 and metal finished it. I got it to the stage all the bodywork was 95% and the shell in primer, then I had to sell it due to losing the garage it was stored in. I stayed in touch with the man who bought it off me, but lost contact and I know he sold it to the local garage who sprayed it, but that was 15 years ago now. Id love to just know its not rotting away somewhere, I would save it all over again in a heartbeat (I've restored 4 x1/9s in total and worked on maybe a dozen)

@Dallarax19
Entering the reg. no. you've given on https://www.ncts.ie/1101/ shows this reg. is for a 1977 Fiat, model= other, colour=red, and NCT test due 27/7/2023. This may or may not indicate that this car was issued with an NCT pass cert on 27/7/2022, so maybe this car was still on the road until relatively recently?

In the old days you could ask a 'friendly' Garda to check, but nowadays I don't think they can be 'helpful' as, afaik, the Garda Pulse system logs any enquiry, why and by whom. And with data protection laws nowadays, unlikely anyone in the Insurance Co's or vehicle licencing centre in Co. Clare could help...

You might try contacting one of the classic car clubs e.g. https://classicfiatireland.com
Or try a wanted ad in e.g. Irish Vintage Scene magazine, maybe someone knows where 'your' car is, if it's still in existence.
