Here is my punto evo when I picked it up:

I remember looking for my first set of alloys there were quite a few to choose from but you have to look for quite a while to find the ones you want! I am in no real rush to get them but am just looking for a new set for a change! Still undecided on the colour as I like the idea of going darker alloys but im not sure if they will suit but then white will be dirty in 5 mins after having them cleaned!

Had a look on fiats website for some new wing mirror covers as one of mine now has a few marks but the prices look rather steep so had a look on ebay and some are coming up around £15 but im not sure if these are any good! Anyone bought any? :D

Re: Look any better?

Argee but Personally I prefer the fron tof the Evo's IMO

yes definitely agree the evo is nicer once you get used to it...owned a grande
butthe evo grows on you after a few weeks owning it

Are they real Abarths or eBay knock offs? And what does the sticker on the back say? It maybe else where but I've not looked through the whole thing.

Anyway, nice car and hope you can get it lowered soon. Insurance comes down so quickly after your first year

Nope they are real ones. Bought them off David on here. Sticker on the back says 'don't be a dingbat' which is what Keith Lenon used to say quite a lot on celebrity juice. Will get a pic once i have cleaned the car next!!

well to be completely honest you got what was coming to you. (sounds obvious)

people said you will crash - you didnt like it - you still crashed

people didnt like the 1st set of wheels - you didnt like it - you swapped them

you want suspension - insurance says no - dont tell them (Simples) just dont write your car off

you boasted about having a brand new car, but if you took older and wiser peoples advise and did research, you will know not to buy brand new cars as brand new cars have brand new faults like you are currently experiencing with your starting and transmission.

older cars either have recalls to fix the problem or at least you know what your getting and know how to fix it with an older car.

with an older car insurance is less likely to be as expensive too as the car value will be less and in the event of an accident, wont cost the insurance as much to repair.

errmmm cant think of anything else, but to sum it up before i get dislikes and rude posts back: i wrote my first car off after a week of passing my test :p luckily it was only worth £3500 and the insurance paid out £2700 so i was able to buy the same model car again in order to carry on with the rest of my insurance.

then bought a ford focus which look CRAP standard, like the evo ;) haha but with some mods and tricks can look decent! check my focus vid and you will see what i mean. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-WR7...DvjVQa1PpcFMPJ2UOH_dC_2rNyc0zeUWBEoXroYRBPxA=

so my contribution to the thread is, the older you are, generally the wiser you are. so rather than arguing over the interweb (not just you, everyone) try and listen and understand their point of view as it will inevitably benefit you in the future.

and not being horrible, but the only nice thing on your car is the colour :p and thats only because you should of bought a normal Grand Punto and not the evo :D

What can I say! Well first of all when you say I crashed it is a bit over the top. Someone clipped my mirror on the way home but I was lucky enough to find it the next day with just a small little mark and a tiny bit of plastic missing. Not what I would call a massive crash!

People on here didn't like my old wheels but I did and lots of other people did. The only reason I sold them as they were looking a bit tired! They had scratches all over them which they were like when I bought them and I kept them on there until I could find a set that I really liked!

I am not doing the suspension as not gonna try and avoid getting caught!

I do agree. I wish I went for a older car now as to be honest the quality of this one is crap, it's slow and there are so many problems with it but you learn from your mistakes so in the future the chances of me buying a brand new car next is very slim.

I am not looking to highly mod this car as I am happy how it looks. (its up to you what you think) but my next car I want to modify it a lot.

I really like how it looks now and it gets me to where I need to go so I am happy. I prefer the evo and we had a grande punto for 3 years and to be honest we did not like it, but it's up to you what you think!

well at least you have a good head on you and realised your mistakes. and i meant to put accident not crash as u didnt exactly damage yours except for the mirror. and dont get me wrong the evos a nice car and you should be proud of what you have. but for any new driver, getting something of such value is never a good idea. i learned my lesson and became a better driver because of it, so in some ways im glad i had the crash as i dont think im 'invincible' and dont want it to happen again.

now im older and a relatively experienced driver i can afford nicer/quicker cars without the stupid insurance and theres a decreased percentage of an accident.

im 22 and have 4 years NCB and 5 years driving and my mjet costs me £700 fully comp with admiral, so although not the best price; its still very reasonable
