I have an 2016 Fiat Ducato with the 5" uconnect satnav where the navigation is not working.
It shows a gray map en according to the settings it sees no satellites.

so before buying a new unit i just want to check if the gps antenna is broken/not connected but i cant find the thing
So i like some advice where to find the thing

Hi

I believe the GPS antenna is part of the FM/DAB antenna, fitted on the cab roof above the windscreen. The GPS antenna is small, and is inside the plastic base.

You might wish to try a separate GPS antenna. The easiest place to put this is inside the cab, on the top of the dashboard. Nearly all GPS antennas share their signal output with a low current DC feed, which supplies a tiny amplifier fitted right next to the antenna. The GPS receiver normally has the facility to supply this DC, but sometimes it must be switched on by a software command.

I think you should be looking for a multifunction antenna. It is located in left mirror, FIAT part number is 735440394 and it looks like that:
