Technical List of stupid questions to follow.....

....ok.....no idea how these little cars work !! Not got my Haynes book of
lies yet before anybody asks !!!

- what grade of oil do they like best?
- how often does it want changing (any more/less than other modern cars)?
- anything else I should know ?

Noticed today that the air filter is icky so he's obviously not had a good
service in a long time (ooooerrr mrs) !! So it's on the cards very soon.

1.15W40 is best recommended, Semi Synthetic at worst Id say
2.Often as Possible
3.On the OHV the oil Filter's a bitch to get at

I did notice today the oil filter looked like it ain't designed to be changed !!! lol

15W40? Hmmm looks like my good old GTX is out then....think they've just
changed that to 10W40 !!??

Looks like a job for soon then !!!

I put some 15W40 Magnatec in mine a few months back, seems to be doing the job just fine.

How are your tappets sounding? Does it run like a tractor yet?

If you're doing the full service, I'd suggest plugs and fuel filter too. Have a look at the rear brakes as well, they tend to get a little sticky: the linkages on the cable ends tend to seize on the pivot bit.

Goes without saying but the antifreeze change is probably overdue as well then.
