Technical Linea 2008 Blue&Me system-> stream music from phone?

Hi guys, I`m new here.

I have a 2008 Fiat Linea and it has the Blue&Me system which has also an USB port in the glove compartment. I found out that i can only listen to music that has been downloaded to an USB stick (.mp3 files etc.).

Has anyone done some kind of retrofit to the system or update of some kind or anything that has enabled them to stream music (or audio, in general) from their phone? Android, in particular - Samsung S24.

I tried with bluetooth USB dongle`s but the USB port on the car does not send power to it and so it doesn`t appear in the bluetooth search list on my phone (tried also with another Android - still nothing).

I would absolutely love to mantain my original interface (not to install an aftermarket head unit) and to be able to answer and close calls from the buttons on the steering wheel like I do now.

Is there any way to resolve this?

Bluetooth calling/hands free should work by pairing the car with the phone. But you cannot stream music from the phone via Bluetooth.

Being an older blue and me system it was never designed to plug into and work with most modern phones

Your 2008 linea has a blue and me system that launched in cars in 2005 and was designed for phones that existed in 2004, namely windows CE powered pocket PC phones which by 2005 were already going out of fashion.

In 2007 Apple and Android both launched and fiats fancy new blue and me system was obsolete over night. They had to make a special adaptor just to connect an iPhone to the earlier blue and me system.

I think at this point your car is just too old (nearly 18 years old!!!) for it to be compatible with modern phones.

You can buy modern head units which keep the look of the standard interior but are much more up to date running android software themselves which would be much more compatible than the trash that fiat installed when the car was new.

Sorry to be so down on your car it’s not your car it’s the blue and me system it was a terrible and highly limited system more so on the first generation.
