Technical lights are on...i have a clicking noise!

when i have my lights on i have a weird clicking noise...mainly when fogs and full beams are on. wot is it? and why it doing it?

the clicking acutally gets faster and more frequent when fogs or full beams are on! ahhh what is it...hope its not expensive

Hope you sort it, sounds like a relay to me....but then again, I know nothing about cars!

Do the lights flicker in time with the clicking? And is the noise coming from under the dash (where all the relays are)?

i dont think the lights flicker...but the noise is coming from dash its only front lights....i went to fiat they weren't 100% sure but said was relay....and said cost me around £80 a hour NOT including the parts!!!!

is this an easy job for me to do? the part only be around £5-10

well if its is a relay they are normaly just pul out plug in type job probtake fiat about 5 mintues.

thats strange i just noticed that the clicking gets worse when u turn the cold/heater dial up higher! weird...is this still to do with reply then?

i once has an o2 punto and the same clicking noise....went to scrap yard and bought ALL the relays and changed them all....but it did stop but i do not know which one it was..time taken....10 mins......cost=£5.00 results=saved a packet+solved the clicking noise then 2 weeks later a truck rear ended my car=they paid me more than i paid for my car=bought a new punto.....merry cristmas

where are the relays? are they easy to get to??

iv been having the same problem for the past 2 months, when i turn the lights and heater on the clicking starts but when the heaters on 1 or 2 thrs no click but as soon as i turn the heater 2 3 it starts and on 4 the clickings really fast. my sounds under the steering tho so i dont no if its the same prob, when i turn the indicator on (with the lights on and heater on ) the clickin stops and same with the wipers. i think thy might be some sort of problem with the wiring under my steering wheel because few months back my car went mad because my back wiper wud come on for evrything i did i wudnt turn off no matter wot evn when car was OFF. it was a fault in the ECU so th garage simply short curcuited a wire and it was solvd.

i jus aint got the money right now to worry bout the clickin so i jus simply drive with loud music and tht helps lol

yep that sound exactly the same problem as what iv got....haha yeh i do that wack the sounds up haha the clicking is so annoyin...i been told that when it completely goes it will either swtich permanant to on or off :S

i have attached a picture....i was told this is where the relays are along with the fuses. it the pull down flap on far right of drivers side.

are the red and black boxes the relays?

the noise isnt actually coming from them if they are relays its coming from the inside the steering column!

what the hell is this noise!?

u wont believe but the clickings stopped now and now my wipers wont work!!! garage sayin its not relay, me gonna hav 2 wait til 5 to get it sorted and i hav 2 be at work at 630!! :bang:

the problem with the wipers was that the switch was messed so hes gonna get me a new wiper switch from the dealers 2morrow, and the clicking noise was a relay so ud have to get that cheacked out.
