General lift up reverse!!

hi,i wonder if any1 could help me out,ive bought a 20v turbo it goes in reverse without the lift up collor being used?? is this bad? :bang: please someone advise me

i have never heard of using it without the lift up ...

probably the lift-up mechanism is bust. As long as there are no grinding noises I wouldn't worry about it. Try a replacement knob and see if that works. Sammi do you still have your nob

It's not really a problem, as long as you don't try and put it in reverse while going forward! What has probably happened is that the cable that goes from the gearknob to the gearbox that is pulled when you lift the collar, has snapped at some point, and has been bodged in some way.
So no, it's not really a problem.

i still havent got my knob on... got a new gear surround thanks to fishy dave so can do them both at the same time, er correction WE can do it same time

nope no sex change yet ....
