I have had my bravo hlx for over a year now and without(touch wood)any problems so far,but when reading from this forum, you think gawd all these things to go wrong with my favourite bit of metal.Thats when you start listening for every knock, smell for burning, check the mpg etc every time you drive the thing. My point(a small one admittingly)is that most people who actually can be bothered to post have a problem, but people like myself who have no problem don`t.I did have reservations in buying my first fiat don`t get me wrong but can say they are no worse or probably better than any over make in their class,in fact as up to press i am impressed and i`ve had 7 makes of car(inc bmw)the only thing which i don`t like on most fiats is the styling but i bought one i did like as most of you with fiats did.Lost my point a bit their but nevermind and HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!PS i don`t work for fiat!

I LUUUUV MY BRAVO

I agree. I've had my Bravo almost one year now and despite irritating problems such as the rear wash jet not working, not great handling/suspension, etc (not 2 mention de ass-hole who scratched the driver's door with a penknife), I love it to bits. The fact is it's a bloody sexy, good-lookin' car. If u want boring reliability, buy a Golf!!!

I totally agree!!

I own my 98 hgt from february 2001 and owned a punto 75 before this car and I must say: I love these FIATS!!

The sound of the 5 cylinder engine.... brrrrr

GSI & GTI they don't even get close to that!!

Also had the problem with the faulty rear screen washer.... but that's about it!!

i love my HGT too....

I think the same way. If u browse this forum, you'll only find complaints and troubles.. and it's not fair.

I'm 110% happy with my 99 HGT. It has its flaws, but which car don't?

Something that could happen is getting "used" to the car great response and performance... yesterday i got the chance to drive a Honda Civic coupe, and i got tottaly disappointed with that car... nice looking, but the engine sucks in every way...

Dudes, enjoy your HGTs... that gearbox, that engine power and sound, the car styling...
i love this car in every way.

Regards
Gonzalo

What a surprise .. I don't totally agree

I beleive that Fiat took their eye off the quality of finish and attention to detail once the demise of the Bravo/a was set. My '96 1.4sx is an excellent car, well made, reliable and a joy to drive.

My '00 155 HGT on the other hand has been a nightmare. I have never had a new car that has so many problems and that includes a number of Alfa Romeo's a Rover 800, a Nissan 200sx Turbo, a Ford Ganada Scorpio and a myriad of second hand cars.

I don't entirely agree that Fiat's are just as "bad" as ever other manufacturer, but even as one of the biggest fans of Italian cars I have to take the rose tinits off and say that there is definently something haphazzard about them.

One of the reasons that the Alfa 156 had a bit of bad press to start with was not so much the car being bad, they were actually the best car to come out of Alfa, but they had enticed "new" Alfa owners, most of which had owned Audi's, BMW's and Volvo's etc and they weren't prepared for the joys of owning an Italian car. I loved mine, but was very prepared for the trips back to the dealer to have replacement parts fitted as it is all part the fun of Alfa & Fiat ownership that I have just accepted over the years. BUT the last batch of Bravo's.... hmmm even that took me by surprise.

It's still for sale by the way! :)

Cheers

Sexy+Fast+Roaring+Cheap=HGT !

Hi,
I'am a proud owner of a 98'HGT & love that beauty deeply.
It has everything I need.(Could be more powerful by the way..)

Yeah, Fiat makes good cars like the HGT but I still think that the new kid on the block "Stilo" sucks...

See ya.
