To be DRL compliant they have to go off when the headlamps are switched on!

There are some Neat little Devices on Ebay - that Work when engine is off they are off - when engine is on it activates the lights

sort of like this
Personally i'd be Looking at using this little device to activate a Relay - and using heavy duty cable for powering the lights much better and safe in my eyes

Of Course - Make sure you use a Fuse Too!!
Since there LED's i'd be trying a 1amp or 3amp fuse to start with

For LEDs that switching unit will be adequate and I wouldn't bother relaying it.

True - I know led's use about 6ma
So 16 x 2 = 32 x 6ma = 192ma = 2.4w ish
So a 45W unit should be okay

Need more lights

I'd Put the Switching Unit and Fuse an box and Possibly Fit a Switch on it too

Hmm.. my no-fog headlights don't have such blanks, there is a blank built in the front cover where the fog lamp should be. It's a 2002 car and H1 bulb lamps.

This modification is totally illegal for road use.
